Work schedule will vary. The course/curriculum developer will participate in meetings throughout the assigned semester (e.g., onboarding and orientation, project kick-off, in-person or Zoom group meetings, project milestone meetings, and individual consultations with School of Professional Staff as needed.

Minimum Experience/Education:

Doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. A candidate without 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching disciple would be considered based on qualifications and competencies such as related work or professional experience, licensure and certifications; continuous documented excellence in teaching; honors and awards; scholarly publications and presented papers; and other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education::


Master’s or doctoral degree in leadership, business administration, or a related field in business or human resource management. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who understands the theory and practice of human resource management along with recent trends and innovations in the industry. The SME for Course and Curriculum Development: Human Resource Management series has demonstrated ability to design curriculum to support learners to strengthen and develop human resource management skills necessary for successful productivity and performance in contemporary work settings.
Industry experience related to the course disciple; experience developing curriculum that meets professional certification or credential requirements; have experience teaching hybrid and online courses; and familiarization with teaching post-traditional students. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to use multiple technologies (Canvas, Google applications) in an online teaching environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:


The course/curriculum developer for the Human Resource Management series will develop three, one-credit hour courses (PROS 3301, 3302, 3303), designed for online, asynchronous delivery in the eight-week term to accommodate 35-50 learners.
The course and curriculum developer will develop a complete, student-ready course, or subset of courses, that meets identified standards by the end of the development period. The course should provide all the materials, student learning activities, and guidance necessary for facilitating the delivery of the course. Curriculum design includes: writing course objectives, identifying or developing instructional materials, developing a course syllabus, preparing short recorded lectures or other multimedia components, developing projects, and/or other student assignments.
The courses to be developed meet the criteria of the Human Resource Management series designed to strengthen and develop leadership and management skills necessary in contemporary work settings. Course descriptions:
PROS 3301: Human Resource Management: Foundations
– The Foundations level includes workforce planning, human resource development, and employee performance management..
PROS 3302: Human Resource Management: Practitione
r – The Practitioner level includes employee engagement, employee relations, and compensation.
PROS 3303: Human Resource Management: Specialis
t – The Specialist level includes includes change management and organizational development.

Other Work/Responsibilities:

All necessary copyright and other clearances will be obtained by the course and curriculum developer working with appropriate offices for any materials incorporated into the online course that exceeds what is allowable under fair use standards. A signed Course Development Agreement is required.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications:

There are no necessary licenses or certifications. Relevant industry certifications or credentials are desired but not necessary.
