Job Details
The responsibilities of the Office Manager for the Division of Oral Pathology include coordinating the activities of the clinical oral pathology practice as it continues to grow with increasing demand for consultative services, including fielding all patient queries, communicating with referring clinicians, coordinating referrals, registering patients, scheduling appointments, and checking insurance coverage.
In addition to responsibilities related to the clinical oral pathology practice, the Manager is also responsible for overseeing the activities of the surgical oral pathology practice at BUGSDM, including managing the oral pathology laboratory and overseeing CLIA inspections, accessioning all biopsy specimens submitted to the oral pathology biopsy service, maintaining the surgical pathology database, performing transcription of histopathology reports, and serving as a liaison between General Pathology at Boston Medical Center and the Division, attending to daily surgical oral pathology consultation requests.
The Manager is also responsible for maintaining faculty personal and clinical schedules, monitoring department inventory, providing support proctoring didactic examinations for the predoctoral oral pathology course, and managing requests for oral pathology faculty patient consultation in the BU dental clinics as necessary.
Required Skills- Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of experience.
