Boston University Questrom School of Business seeks a full-time Digital Communications Specialist to join the Marketing & Communications Office. This position supports all major internal and external communications initiatives for BU Questrom, with a focus on social media and content creation that promotes the School's strategic priorities; showcases Questrom faculty research, academic programs, and undergraduate and graduate student experiences; builds engagement with and connection to the School's brand; and demonstrates the power of a business education.

The Digital Communications Specialist directs the Questrom social media channels on a day-to-day basis, including weekends and holidays, posting verbal and visual content, answering questions and comments, managing engagement, maintaining an editorial calendar, utilizing the full feature set for each social media channel, and exploring new ways to engage with social networks.

The incumbent helps manage bu.edu/Questrom and creates timely, engaging, and informative brand-based content for the website. This may include blog posts, web copy, video scripts, infographics, and other assets, optimizing content for search engine optimization as applicable. Additional responsibilities include reporting website metrics using Google Analytics and ensuring content remains relevant and accurate.

Reporting to the Director, Brand Execution and Digital Communications, this position collaborates with the MarCom team to further support the goals and objectives of the department and advance the digital brand presence for the Questrom School of Business.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related subject, with 3 to 5 years of related work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills and demonstrated experience using social media required
  • Ability to write, edit, proofread, publish, and produce web content and communications materials
  • A good understanding of search engine marketing
  • Ability to analyze data and trends and make/recommend decisions accordingly
  • Experience using Google Analytics
  • Strong ability to work independently and to initiate and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using WordPress
