Description:

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences invites applicants to apply for a full-time licensed adult psychiatrist, at the Assistant Professor rank, to perform inpatient Med-Psych consultation and liaison services. The candidate will provide inpatient psychiatric consults daily as requested, along with providing on-call emergency department coverage at Tulane Medical Center (TMC). Additionally, the candidate will provide inpatient coverage (including weekends) and floor psychiatric consultation to inpatient services for the Med-Psych Service at St. Charles Parish Hospital (Ochsner Clinic Foundation). 

Teaching responsibilities will include supervision of adult psychiatry residents, internal medicine residents and medical students rotating through these facilities. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to our educational program by participating in the didactic series for adult psychiatry, by giving grand grounds, and participating in our continuing medical education conference series.


Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Completion of a medical degree, M.D. or D.O.
  2. Completed an ACGME Internal Medicine residency training program and be board certified by ABIM or board eligible with a plan to seek certification within 1 year AND completed an ACGME psychiatry residency training program and be board certified by ABPN or board eligible with a plan to seek certification within 1 year, OR completed a combined ACGME Internal Medicine/Psychiatry residency training program and board certified ABPN and ABIM or board eligible with a plan to seek certification from both within 1 year. 
  3. License to practice psychiatry in the state of Louisiana.
