The Department of Music at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Ethnomusicology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The applicant must have a conferred PhD in their field by September 1, 2023.
The precise areas of research specialization are open. We seek a colleague who will energetically partner with current faculty to serve and expand our ethnomusicology program. Teaching responsibilities will include four courses per year as well as the supervision and mentorship of PhD students, primarily in ethnomusicology.
The Department of Music, School of Humanities & Sciences, and Stanford University value faculty who are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates may optionally include as part of their research or teaching statement a brief discussion of how their work will further these ideals.
