MCD seeks an energetic, highly organized Program Manager with a passion for philanthropy and a strong command of language and details to serve a key role in supporting the fundraising activities of Stanford Medicine's institutional leaders and volunteers. Our institutional leaders include the dean of the School of Medicine and the president and CEO of Stanford Health Care. Our volunteers are dedicated community members and industry leaders who serve on our high-level advisory boards and committees.

The Program Manager represents MCD as a key interface between MCD staff and internal and external constituencies of the School of Medicine and Stanford Health Care. As the Program Manager on the Volunteer and Leader Engagement Team, you will play a visible role and be responsible for a wide range of projects in support of the fundraising and outreach objectives of MCD. You will be responsible for managing processes, relationships, and communications by serving as a liaison to the offices of the dean and CEO. You will field requests and schedule dean and CEO meetings, support and manage the production and copyediting of briefings, and create materials and presentations for volunteer and faculty meetings.

Your responsibilities include*:
  • Partnering with dean/CEO offices and MCD colleagues to manage complex scheduling of development-related meetings and events. Developing and managing trusted relationships with these offices and with MCD colleagues.
  • Supporting execution of a high quality, high-volume (100+/year) briefing/communications program: assembly of information, compilation, editing, proofing, occasional drafting, distribution, tracking, following up with colleagues, and adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Project managing high-level volunteer and faculty meetings: deadline/deliverable management, sending communications and tracking RSVPs, location and logistics coordination, meeting materials/presentations creation, and day-of meeting execution.
  • Collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data, creating reports, reviewing and explaining trends; formulating alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program. Tools include volunteer tracking database and Salesforce.
  • Analyzing and interpreting policies; developing, revising and implementing procedures.
  • Overseeing budget and monitoring and approving expenditures.
  • Handling other projects for the Director of Volunteer and Leader Engagement.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Superior writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated record in building strong relationships across diverse groups of stakeholders using tact and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and flexible in the face of multiple priorities, shifting circumstances, and the demands of servicing a large client base
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally use a telephone.
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
