The Treasurer's Office has a dual report to the Board of Regents and the Vice President for Budget and Finance and is responsible for overall cash management, debt management and property management. It provides support and assistance to the campuses on financing strategies, real estate issues, banking relationships, and other investment-related issues.
Position Summary
The Senior Treasury Analyst provides accounting and reporting support to the Office of the Treasurer. This position supports the University's mission by providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to the University's fiscal employees and external entities, as well as assisting with necessary accounting and reporting functions within the Treasury department. To thrive in this position, the individual must be an accomplished financial or accounting professional plus a creative and self-motivating problem-solver, interested in analyzing accounting problems and pursuing solutions. The Senior Treasury Analyst must be both a strong team-player and a successful independent worker, with excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills.
This position reports to the Assistant Treasurer, Operations and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.

This position is located at the System Administration office. However, this positon has been approved for the following work arrangements: 100% remote, and Hybrid
Duties and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- Remain informed about the reporting requirements created by Federal, State, and university organizations, particularly with respect to investments and debt.
- Assist the Treasury department in ensuring that GASB is followed when recording financial transactions.
Investment:
- Prepare reconciliations and journal entries for monthly or quarterly transactions, including cash distributions for externally-managed trusts, internally-managed trusts, and custodial held endowments at the University of Colorado Foundation (“CUF”).
- Create reconciliations and journal entries for monthly transactions in the Treasury pool, including internally and externally managed accounts.
- Reconcile and record transactions monthly for other non-pool portfolios.
- Reconcile and record investment fees monthly including custodial fees and investment manager fees.
Debt Related:
- Prepare reconciliations and monthly journal entries for transactions in the bond ladder portfolio.
- Prepare the quarterly Liquidity Reports.
Year-end / Annual Audit:
- Assist Assistant Treasurer, Operations with the annual preparation of the investment, debt, and cash schedules for external auditors and the state; including the Pledged Revenue Report.
- Prepare annual reports such as the yearly gift report for the State of Colorado and other exhibits for the state auditor.
- Provide backup documentation for samples selected by auditors.
- Analyze, prepare, and post audit adjustments as needed.
- Prepare posting for year-end receivable balances.
Cash Management and Banking:
- Initiate or approve wire transfers through Wells Fargo's banking software platform, CEO.
- Provide secondary approval on banking access requests made by campus departments.
- Review and approve transactions between the University and CUF.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Prepare schedules that support the Quarterly Treasury Report for the Board of Regents.
- Prepare and document new and existing operating procedures for Treasury accounting.
- Approve PIE attribute updates made by the campuses.
- Provide back up to next day cash management, as needed.
What we offer:
Salary: The anticipated hiring range has been established at $72,000-$78,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Please ensure your resume includes any and all relevant experience to be accurately assessed against these qualifications. You must meet all minimum requirements listed at the time of application to be considered for this role.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent professional experience. (The educational requirement may be substituted by professional experience on a year for year basis.)
- Four (4) years of experience in the finance or accounting related role, which could include experience in higher education, a public accounting firm, or other industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six (6) years equivalent experience, as stated above
- Professional experience in accounting for an institution of higher education.
- Experience with fund accounting.
- Professional experience with Adobe Acrobat or PeopleSoft enterprise software.
- Working toward, or completion of, a CTP or similar qualification.
- Experience with debt, endowment, and/or investment accounting.
