Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) Reflections for Women has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Substance/Behavioral Health Clinician position.

This class series uses three levels within the Health Care Services Occupational Group and describes direct client treatment work in psychiatric care settings. Positions in this class series provide client care by participating in individual and group therapy sessions, planning and implement client treatment from admission through discharge. The work includes clinical coordination duties such as scheduling treatment plan reviews, programming, and activities so that all patients on a ward or unit are able to attend sessions; providing in-service training and serving as a resource to nursing staff on clinical topics; coordinating contacts with clients' family and community agencies in order to evaluate client placement sites and aftercare services following discharge or during transition; and serving as a liaison with other units on the transfer and continuing treatment of patients.

Haven Mother's House is a residential substance use disorder treatment program for women who are either pregnant or who have infant children. The Haven Mother's House is a Special Connections Medicaid Provider, located on the Ft. Logan campus in Southwest Denver, where women can recover from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders in a safe and confidential environment. The program utilizes therapeutic interventions to help women become safe, sober, and successful. The program allows mothers to reside with their infants in treatment while also providing early head start services to the infants as well as trauma informed and gender responsive services to mothers. Bonding and attachment is facilitated between mother and child and parenting groups focus on building positive parenting skills.

Because this position requires direct observation of females submitting specimens for urinalysis and nightly bed checks of female clients, being female has been determined to be a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification and only females will be considered for the position.

Examples of Work Performed:
This full-time University Staff (unclassified) position is part of a lager interdisciplinary team that provides substance use disorder counseling and case management to clients enrolled in the program. Essential job functions include:
    Facilitate groups and provide individual counselling and case management Conducing ASAM assessments to demonstrate continued medical necessity a 111.5 level of care Complete the GAIN assessment and utilize to develop treatment plans Modify treatment plan goals as needed Prepare monthly progress reports and clinical reports as needed Observe UAS, perform facility head counts, monitor medications, and assure safety of the facility Address gender specific issues in a trauma informed approach Monitor and assist mothers with basic infant care when infant wakes in middle of the night Ensure infant safe sleep practices are adhered to

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
    Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment. One (1) year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Must presently be certified as a Certified Addiction Specialist (Formerly known as a Certified Addiction Counselor Level II, III) or Master level counselor or related field

Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Substitution: Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the Associate degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working in a substance use disorder treatment environment with a focus on women's issues (i.e. trauma ; domestic violence; mental health treatment; parenting and child development; barriers women experience in treatment such as childcare, employment, finding a job that pays enough to support their family, etc.) Experience documenting clinical interventions according to established policies and procedures Experience writing treatment plans Experience completing ASAM and clinical assessments Experience observing, monitoring and/or intervening in drug/alcohol treatment Experience providing group and individualized clinical care for adult clients

Competencies:
    Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn software programs Experience using an Electronic Health Record Ability to establish boundaries with clients Ability to manage difficult behaviors Ability to track client progress through the development and updates of treatment plans Ability to deliver individual and group counseling services Ability to apply ethical guidelines of profession Ability to be nonjudgmental and respectful of others beliefs, values, and culture

Conditions of Employment:
    Must be agree to fingerprinting and criminal background check. Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Subject to pre-employment, post-accident or incident or reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing per UCD Addiction Research and Treatment Services Department Policies. Individuals in recovery from substance abuse must have one year abstinence from alcohol and drug problems. In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), ARTS cannot employ individuals (who may have contact with residents) who have (1) engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail , lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility , or other Institution (as defined in 42 U.S. C . § 1997); (2) been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion , or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or (3) been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in (1-3) of this section. Material omissions regarding such misconduct, or the provision of materially false information, shall be grounds for termination. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain a valid State of Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire

Note: This is an essential services position. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position has been established at $39,645 to $43,368

This position may be eligible for a onetime recruitment incentive up to $1,000. Details of this one-time recruitment incentive program will be provided during the interview process.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
