Reflections for Women is a residential program for women located on the Ft. Logan campus in Southwest Denver, where women can recover from the disease of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders in a safe and confidential environment. The program utilizes therapeutic approaches to assist individuals in learning healthy coping skills, and changing unhealthy behaviors in order to become self –sufficient, confident, and productive members of society. Treatment is also provided to pregnant and parenting mothers, allowing infants to reside with their mothers in treatment. Bonding and attachment is facilitated between mother and child and parenting groups focus on building positive parenting skills. This position also works closely with the Haven intake department which provides intake and assessment for the Haven therapeutic community. Those clients are admitted from the criminal justice system.

Examples of Work Performed:

Assess clients for placement into a 3.5 or 3.1 level of residential care and assure transition into care.
    Utilize the ASAM criteria to determine risk and level of care. Conduct additional assessment of clients using a biopsychosocial questionnaire and assist clients with the application process Work with referring agents to assure proper placement of clients and a smooth transition into care. Assess mental health and detox needs and coordinate detox or MAT services as needed. Screen for priority populations and assure continued coordination with clients until admission into the program. Complete all intake documents per OBH standards and document in the electronic health record Complete initial treatment plan for client entering treatment Submit prior authorization of ASAM to Medicaid when possible or within 24 hours of admission. Assure proper documentation for level of care and special connections Medicaid. Communicate effectively with Medicaid to assure authorization. Work directly with program staff to assure a warm hand off and all standards of admission are met. Provide resources for people placed on the waitlist or who are not appropriate for our level of care.
  • Provides program information to a wide range of individuals requesting information, including family members, potential clients, and other professional referral sources and presents the program thoroughly and completely so an individual has a clear understanding of what to expect while in treatment.
  • Conducts tours and provides presentations with or for director as needed.
  • Will attend staff meetings, trainings, and supervision as assigned. Will participate in clinical reviews and coordination of care as needed. May be called upon to assist in other clinical services as needed. Assist with coordination of admissions to the Haven program when needed to include Meets with potential clients at jails and DWCF to do preliminary assessments.
  • Admits clients into the program and completes applicable documentation through the electronic health record.
  • Completes initial treatment plan based on assessment information.
  • Coordinates a smooth transition from incarceration or community into treatment to include setting up MAT services or medical care as needed.
  • Conducts tours of facilities for potential clients and referral agents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience appropriate to the assignment
  • Must presently be certified as a Certified Addiction Specialist in the State of Colorado or have a master's degree in a clinical field.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must agree to fingerprinting and criminal background check. Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) AND the Central Registry of Child Protection (Trails)
  • Subject to pre-employment, post-accident or incident or reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing per UCD Addiction Research and Treatment Services Department Policies.
  • Individuals in recovery from substance abuse must have one year abstinence from alcohol and drug problems.
  • In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) , ARTS cannot employ individuals (who may have contact with residents) who have (1) engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail , lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility , or other Institution (as defined in 42 U.S. C . § 1997); (2) been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion , or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or (3) been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in (1-3) of this section. Material omissions regarding such misconduct, or the provision of materially false information , shall be grounds for termination
  • Because this position requires direct observation of females submitting specimens for urinalysis and nightly bed checks of female clients, being female has been determined to be a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification and only females will be considered for the position
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain a valid State of Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire

Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a substance use disorder treatment environment with a focus on women's issues (i.e. trauma ; domestic violence; mental health treatment; parenting and child development ;barriers women experience in treatment such as childcare, employment; etc .)
  • Experience working with offender population
  • Experience documenting behaviors according to established policies and procedures
  • Experience utilizing clinical assessments including the ASAM
  • Experience providing group and individualized clinical care for adult clients

Competencies:
    Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn software programs Experience using an Electronic Health Record
  • Ability to establish boundaries with clients
  • Ability to manage difficult behaviors
  • Ability to track client progress through the development and updates of treatment plans
  • Ability to deliver individual and group counseling services
  • Ability to apply ethical guidelines of profession
  • Ability to be nonjudgmental and respectful of others beliefs, values, and culture

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is $40,000 and is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
