Nature of Work:

The Department of Pathology seeks a full time Faculty member (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) with fellowship training in medical renal pathology. This effort will be focused in medical renal pathology including frozen section assessment of donor kidney biopsies, transplant biopsies and native kidney biopsies. The attending pathologist will be part of a multidisciplinary team, inclusive of 2 other senior pathologists as well as other subspecialty trained physicians; thus, strong verbal and written communication and professionalism skills are expected. This position is an academic post; hence, scholarly activity and teaching of pathology residents is expected and time for these activities will be provided. Candidates with additional areas of expertise, particularly in genitourinary pathology, are preferred.

Employment Expectations:
    Attending physician/pathologist, board certified in anatomic pathology, with fellowship training in Renal Pathology Educator for medical students, residents, fellows, and laboratory staff Engagement in translational and/or clinical research Participate in departmental, school, and professional committees Participate in multidisciplinary clinical care including numerous conferences Active participation in quality programs, attentiveness to risk management and reduction, as well as clinical practice standards of the College of American Pathology

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at:

Assistant Professor: $130,000 - $250,000

Associate Professor: $212,000 - $290,000

Full Professor: $212,000 - $320,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Fellowship training in medical renal pathology

Assistant Professor:

The successful candidate must be board certified in anatomic pathology and candidates who are fellowship trained in renal pathology will be considered.

Associate Professor:

The successful candidate must be board certified in anatomic pathology and candidates who are fellowship trained in renal pathology will be considered. At least 6 years of experience in academic renal pathology is required. Clinical, teaching and scholarship accomplishments sufficient for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, regular (tenure eligible) track required.


The successful candidate must be board certified in anatomic pathology and candidates who are fellowship trained in renal pathology or who have extensive relevant experience will be considered. At least 12 years of experience in academic renal pathology is required.
