The Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time position for a Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health Clinician on the Anschutz Campus. Please note this is an open-rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor based on experiences and qualifications as indicated below.

Nature of Work

This position is primarily responsible for direct patient care of children and adolescents presenting with a broad range of emotional and behavioral difficulties and their families. This includes diagnostic assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for youth and their families in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at the Anschutz Medical Campus and/or at one of the CHCO Networks of Care sites. Although there may be opportunities to engage in training, supervision, and/or scholarship activities, this role is considered a Clinical Only position.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Provides direct patient care to children, adolescents, and their families, including completing diagnostic evaluations, as well as providing individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Develops and implements evidence-based treatment plans
  • Engages in ongoing treatment monitoring and disposition planning
  • Collaborates with internal and external providers involved in a patient's care to coordinate on the treatment plan and progress.
  • Maintains timely communication with team members, supervisor, and divisional leadership.
  • Attends team meetings and educational in-services. Enters appropriate notes and charge captures that comply with state and federal standards in the medical record for all patients seen. Other duties as assigned.



Supervision Received

The Behavioral Health Clinician reports to the PMHI Clinical Director, Dr. Jessica Hawks.

Supervision Exercised

The Behavioral Health Clinician will not supervise other employees. There may be opportunities to provide supervision, training, and mentoring to mental health trainees.



Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:

Instructor: $59,000 to $80,000.

Senior Instructor: $59,000 to $80,000

Assistant Professor: $59,000 to $80,000

Associate Professor: $59,000 to $80,000

Professor: $59,000 to $80,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Qualifications

Instructor:

Senior Instructor:
    1-3 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related degree Colorado License (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage, and Family Therapist) or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado

Assistant Professor:
    1-3 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related degree Colorado License (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage, and Family Therapist) or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado

Associate Professor:
    4-7 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related degree Colorado License (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage, and Family Therapist) or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado

Professor:
    7+ years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related degree Colorado License (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage, and Family Therapist) or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado
