Virus life cycles we have studied include HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2 and picornaviruses. Currently the MDA5-MAVS pathway and other nucleic acid sensing mechanisms are under study in an exciting picornavirus replicase-transgenic mouse with well-tolerated constitutive MDA5 activation and other unique features.
