Job Overview

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Part-time faculty must be able to provide course instruction in any of the following areas: art history survey; history of design; contemporary art. Courses taught will require in-person teaching. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year. All classes may be offered day or evening.

All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.

Essential Functions
  • On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses
  • May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education

Master's in Art History or related field with prior teaching experience and/or relevant field experience - OR - PhD in Art History
