- Conduct research experiments in radiation biology within the pre-determined research scope and methodology.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results.
- Participate in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
- Keep informed of developments in the research field and maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- Maintain a detailed and updated lab notebook, outlining experiments and methods.
- Teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
- Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
- Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members.
- Assist with lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
Minimum Education and ExperienceQualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Oncology, or a related field, with interest and experience in applications to cancer. Additional Qualifications Considered
- Expertise in radiation biology, oncology, mouse experimentation, biomolecular techniques, and complex cell culture systems.
