Job Overview

The Media Communications & Technology Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Applied Media Communications Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Part-time faculty must be able to teach a variety of freshman and sophomore level eMedia classes, depending on candidates’ expertise. Courses to be staffed include Media Design Foundations I & II, Photography I & II, Video Production I, Web Design I & II, Animation Foundations, Animation I & II (2D), 3D Modeling & Texture, 3D Light & Motion, Interactive Design, Applied Media Methods. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to: use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; hold regular office hours to meet with students; and participate in at least one professional development workshop per year. All classes may be offered day or evening.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
Required Education

A bachelor’s degree in specific technical fields related to the media production discipline taught: audio, photography, video, motion graphics and/or web production.

Required Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in professional media design and production.

Additional Qualifications Considered

At least one year of teaching experience in a college setting is preferred.
