Position Description:
Incumbent will manage the acquisition of insurance and worker's compensation for all student film projects across all applicable department courses involving production, utilizing knowledge of production and business aspects of the entertainment industry as well as the policies and procedures of the Department of Film, Television and Digital Media (FTVDM) and the Office of Insurance and Risk Management (OIRM). In addition, this position will administer festival opportunities, special initiative logistics, coordination of master classes, and coordination of special equipment and space needs.

Major duties include: conducting complex administrative analysis of insurance requests for equipment and locations; analysis of set safety issues, union guidelines, and standard production legal and safety issues; provision of worker's compensation requests for cast and crew; lecture at classes three to four times per year with regards to securing locations, equipment insurance, worker's compensation, film permits, and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) student agreements; administrate submission of FTVDM student films into worldwide festivals as well as analyze and distribute film festival information to students; devise and manage a system for departmental film stock and processing requirements; be knowledgeable of the various film agencies and advise students accordingly; provide various authorization letters to students; handle internal and external inquiries; and analyzing student scripts/screenplays, breaking down production issues and potential insurance liabilities.

Incumbent will work under the supervision of the Department Chair, the Vice Chair and Head of Production, and the Department Administrator.
