Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Clinic Team Lead position.

This position will report to, and serve under the supervision of, the Clinic Manager at one of the ARTS Adult Outpatient Program (AOP) clinic locations in Denver or Arvada, Colorado. This position is responsible for managing various aspects of patient treatment and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) at the clinic as well as perform direct service provision such as individual and group therapy, treatment planning and abstinence monitoring as necessary. This position will serve as the Clinic Manager's designee when the Clinic Manager is absent or unavailable. The Clinic Team Lead will coordinate and participate in meetings with clinic team members and ARTS staff, as well as representatives from community agencies, hospitals/medical facilities, drug courts, human service departments, criminal justice programs and/or other referral sources. This position will require constantly analyzing developments and situations both inside and outside of the clinic to make strategic recommendations to the Clinic Manager, Program Directors, and/or the AOP Director. This position will provide professional, clinical and/or administrative support for the clinic as needed, or perform other duties as directed by the Clinic Manager. This position will support the clinic's efforts around quality assurance and standards compliance for its operations, including but not limited to licensures, certifications, patient treatment services, and other administrative requirements. This position will help plan and implement various professional development and training activities for clinic staff and assist in tracking and reporting staff compliance and completion of required trainings in all facets of work.

Examples of Work Performed
    Interviews clients for admission to the ARTS Adult Outpatient Program (AOP) Conduct patient assessment, intake, and/or referral to treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) Assess the need for on-going treatment or referral to other agencies; recommends course of action to referral sources Plan for patient treatment and care; creates and implements individualized treatment plans for clients Document the patient's progress toward treatment goals; gathers and records client psychosocial histories Amends treatment plans based on client history and progress in treatment Coordinate access to medical care in collaboration with the Medical Director Coordinate planning and programs for Medication Assisted Treatment and treatment schedules with the Nursing Manager of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Operations and/or the ARTS Medical Director Co-supervise ARTS staff who provide services to clients involved with the Department of Corrections, such as problem-solving court or probation; and provide outreach, reports, updates and meets with these referral sources Provide supervision and case staffing as required including supervision of staff involved in special programming such Drug Court and DUI services Provide treatment services including, but not limited to, conducting individual, group, and family counseling sessions, and documentation in accordance with policy and procedures Coordinate treatment with ARTS physicians and doctors, or other medical providers as appropriate. Communicate with families and community agencies regarding discharge and aftercare plan; alters focus of treatment as deemed necessary Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic Acts as the Clinic Manager's designee in the absence of the Clinic Manager for clinical and/or administrative matters Monitors caseload progress and conducts quality assurance and continuous quality improvement practices and performs case audits quarterly and as assigned by Clinic Manager or AOP Quality Assurance and Special Project Program Manager
    Attends clinic team meetings and case conferences and proactively shares input regarding clinic's various patient treatment and relevant policies Assists in team treatment planning as required; closely consults and collaborates with Clinic Manager to ensure continued quality of care Provides supervision to other staff members who are pursuing licenses/certifications including, but not limited to: CAT, CAS, LAC and LPC, as issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Attends approved training sessions for the purpose of upgrading skills and obtaining or maintaining all required certifications and/or licenses Develops and implements the intake schedule and acts as an internal liaison for intake coordination for Westside Clinic Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager, and/or AOP Executive Management staff

Documentation and Collaboration
    Maintains and reports timely and accurate records as required by policy and/or Clinic Manager Maintains and reports timely and accurate supervision notes as required by policy and/or Clinic Manager Maintains and reports timely and accurate notes and records from internal and external partner/stakeholder meetings as required by policy, or as required by Clinic Manager Maintains and reports timely and accurate records of Individual Counseling and Case Management services Actively establishes and maintains lines of communication with ARTS-internal and ARTS-external stakeholders, community partners and other relevant entities in a prompt, concise, and accurate manner Lead, coordinate, participate in, and/or contribute proactively at stakeholder meetings Closely collaborate with appropriate ARTS departments (AOP Intake Department, ARTS Claims and Billing Department, ARTS CareLogic team, etc.) to promptly and proactively resolve any issues that impact all aspects of AOP programs Anticipate any problems, formulate plans for resolution, and implement with approval from Clinic Manager, Program Directors, and/or AOP Director Actively engages in weekly supervision meetings with Clinic Manager

Other duties
    Assist and report to Clinic Manager as needed in efforts around AOP's response to audits by external agencies including, but not limited to: DEA, Colorado Office of Behavioral Health, Regional Accountable Entities, Managed Services Organizations, and CARF. Assist the Clinic Manager to ensure clinic's smooth daily operations Other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager or AOP Executive Management team

Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or another closely related field. Minimum of four (4) years of experience providing mental health, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment to clients, or in an occupational field closely related to the work assigned to the position Possess a valid and current registration in good standing issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) to provide behavioral health services, as a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT), Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), Social Work Candidate (SW-C), Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPC-C), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and/or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Substitution
    Additional appropriate professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis Additional appropriate education (Master's Degree, Doctorate) may substitute for the required professional experience on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess a master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or another closely-related field.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience providing services to clients who are involved with probation, and/or parole
  • Expertise and professional knowledge of effective interventions working in a clinical role with clients who are involved with probation, human services, social services, criminal justice programs, and/or other referral sources
  • Experience leading or conducting individual and/or family counseling.
  • Experience leading or conducting group counseling sessions.
  • Experience working in a counselor role with opioid-dependent, adult clients.
  • Experience creating individualized treatment plans and other clinical documentation (for example, DAP notes).
  • Experience with therapeutic confrontation and structures.
  • Experience observing, monitoring and intervening in drug/alcohol treatment.
  • Experience in medical care coordination or medical services coordination

Note: This is an essential services position. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $69,511 to $88,419.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
