The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience
is seeking a full-time Assistant Research Professor. Responsibilities will include writing grants, conducting research, and providing direct care to clients of the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC). The proportional workload to be negotiated upon hire. This position is currently indeterminate in length but is dependent on the availability of gift, external grant funding, and clinical services auxiliary funding. This is a non-tenure track appointment and is not eligible for, and cannot lead to, the award of tenure. .
Who We Are:
The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, established in 2020 with an $8 million challenge grant, is committed to advancing knowledge of human resilience to adversity by designing evidence-based solutions through three primary components, 1) basic and clinical research, 2) healing clinics and innovative models of care, and 3) community and training empowerment.
Our VHTC provides services to survivors of psychological trauma using evidence-based practices in treatment. The target populations are active duty and retired veterans, first responders, family members, trauma survivors, and others who are suffering from symptoms of combat/deployment stress, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), mood disorders or burnout. Services may include assessments, individual trauma treatment, group therapy, family therapy, biofeedback, and crisis intervention.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Obtain grant funding as a Principle Investigator Publish original research in high-quality scientific journals Research mentorship (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty, research staff) Peer-review (journal manuscripts, local/national grant review panels) Develop an independent and innovative research agenda in areas that complement those of existing Lyda Hill Institute faculty and affiliates Foster new research and academic partnerships for the Lyda Hill Institute. Provide direct clinical services to veterans, first responders, trauma survivors and their families using evidenced-based practices in treatment. Deliver and document services according to the policies of the clinic in a timely manner using the systems available (such as Electronic Medical Records and Scheduling). Participate in team meetings and staffings Ensure compliance with research and clinical ethical standards set forth by the American Psychological Association
To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:
Strong research background in trauma psychology Must be able to work cooperatively with all constituencies in the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, Program Directors, and coordination staff. Should be comfortable with program development and with public speaking. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students. Training and experience with evidence-based clinical guidelines and the recommended evidenced-based treatments for traumatic stress
Work Location: Remote/On-site as needed
Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.
What We Offer:
Salary Range: Generally starting at $72,000 - $99,852 annually for a 1.0 FTE (12-month salary)
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of auxiliary revenues and gift funding.
Tentative Search Timeline:

- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program
- Minimum of 3 years of research experience within Trauma Psychology
- A demonstrated history of securing external relevant trauma and resilience research funding as demonstrated in your CV
- License eligible in Colorado
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience utilizing evidence-based treatments for trauma survivors (including practicum/internship/postdoc training experience)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
