Reporting directly to and in close collaboration with the Dean and Vice Provost for the Arts, the Director of Administrative Operations & Projects provides high-level administrative counsel and leadership management for the Office of the Dean and Vice Provost for the Arts and the Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts (CPCA). This position is responsible for managing the daily activities of the Office of the Dean and Vice Provost and provides counsel and indirect supervision of the staff and administration of the Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts, representing the will and mission of the Dean and Vice Provost for the Arts in personnel and policy matters and managing various complex projects/aspects on behalf of this office.

Serving as a member of the Dean’s senior leadership team, the Director of Administrative Operations & Projects attends meetings of the Dean’s senior staff; participates, contributes and provides the staff with strategic status reports including completion projections for ongoing strategic projects. Provides necessary leadership to advance projects, confers and collaborates with senior leadership of the various University constituencies independently with minimal direction. Manages faculty reporting and sensitive/confidential data, review/refinement/implementation of policies and procedures, strategic planning coordination/oversight of various CPCA events.  Visits guest engagements, explores, and initiates necessary training, and interacts with high-level donors, producing presentations, etc.

Provides oversight, management, direct and indirect supervision of CPCA staff; directs and develops internal and external relationships within the Dean’s office, departments, faculty, staff, students, donors, special guests, etc.; directly engages with all levels within Temple University and speaks on behalf of the Dean and Vice Provost as needed. Acts as the liaison and key topical advisor between the Dean’s offices and departments on work progress, goals, and strategic plans as needed. All functions performed in this position are of sensitive and confidential in nature and must be managed appropriately. 

Directs ongoing and special projects in support of the Dean’s initiatives, mission, and strategic plans. Develops programs and systems to manage the Dean’s daily activities, plans and manages scheduling and supports various events and meetings, organizes, and manages committees, and interacts with high-level donors. Manages the Dean’s office calendar and ensure all necessary information is current, manages guest coordination and necessary travel arrangement and support on behalf of the Dean. Provides faculty, staff and student support and oversight as needed, serves as point person on faculty searches, promotion and tenure support/submission, graduations, and award ceremonies, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant senior level administrative professional experience with program/project planning and oversight and/or significant staff management responsibility for team collaboration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and keen management skills (including planning, negotiation, and communication skills)
*Knowledge of applicable professional management, administrative and financial principles, and techniques. 
*A commitment to advancing the CPCA's core values of diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging.
*Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable computer software.
*Must demonstrate an understanding of budgets, expense, and reconciliation of projects

Preferred
*Master’s degree.
