Job Description:

Lobby desk coverage

The primary responsibilities of this position is to physically sit and cover the security desk in the lobby of the EPI facility. Duties will include screening all incoming staff, vendors, or visitors. Checking in all non-building occupants into the EasyLobby visitor system. Management of the visitor and official business decals via the shared parking pass calendar. Receives all incoming ground shipments from UPS, Fed Ex or World Courier. Sorts packages and contacts lab for proper retrieval and storage. Answers general questions for any misdirected visitors.

Alarm/Video Surveillance

During lobby coverage, the incumbent is expected to perform the following: screen each person that enters the facility to confirm they have facility access via Lenel, view live video surveillance footage from around the facility using the appropriate video viewing software provided, and monitor all security alarms via the alarm monitoring system and communicates any active urgent alarms with the EPI facilities on call staff.

Guard rounds

During appropriate times throughout the shift, the incumbent will perform the following: overlap or modified security rounds to verify the perimeter of the facility is secure, confirm no suspicious vehicles or packages located around the exterior, ensures security bollards at the loading dock are secured during non-work hours, ensures interior doors are closed and secured as scheduled, verify conference rooms are unlock/locked based on assigned schedule, check various mechanical rooms for leaks or damaged equipment, turns off lighting in areas not controlled via the Building Automation system, and notifies the operations manager or EPI facilities on call team member of urgent mechanical issues.

Guard Reports

The security guard will provide documented report of times away from the desk for rounds and/or breaks by completing the guard audit report.

Expected Salary:

$13.00 - 15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work OVERNIGHT between 11:30pm-7:30am. Must be able to type 20 words per minute. Must be physically able to view video cameras and alarms on 20-inch computer monitors. Must process ability to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to walk a flat surface roof, complete an overlap (entire) building round within thirty minutes, complete a modified round within fifteen minutes and lift up to 50lbs.
