Job Description:

The small animal Operating Room service at the University of Florida Veterinary Hospital is seeking assistants to help turn the OR's around between procedures, clean, stock supplies as needed and help in sterile supply. Examples of this positions responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

- Cleaning and upkeep of areas utilized by surgery such as the OR suites, sterile supply, prep room, and Cath lab.
- Taking instrument carts to sterile supply when sent out from procedure
- Stock/rotate fluid warmer as needed
- Make sure specimen buckets and formalin are filled
- Assist with transporting patients from OR to post-op rads or prep room post-op
- Assist in OR turnaround cleaning and setting room up
- Take out trash and recycling as needed
- Assist with taking bio-hazard bags out
- Refill prep cannisters
- Help Sterile Supply as needed
- Distributes sterile equipment and supplies to the operating rooms
- Load/unload instrument washers and sterilizers
- Cleans, prepares, wraps, labels, and sterilizes surgical packs, equipment and fluids
- Assists with processing laundry

Typical schedule will be Tuesday - Friday, 9am to 6pm and may require working earlier than 9am or later than 6pm. One rotational weekend day may be required.

Expected Salary:

$15 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

HS diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

Some experience with hospital setting, cleaning and animals
