Job Description:

Writing and editing newsroom stories that cover students, faculty, alumni, events, and other news that celebrate and inform our readers. Will require collaboration with editorial staff to manage content distribution, brand alignment, and SEO objectives. Content will likely have associated elements such as enrollment marketing that will require the Writer to also work alongside Marketing & Communication Services staff to incorporate content strategy objectives.

Assist with writing content for the college website. Working with the college Editor, support website copywriting for our schools, departments, centers, and other units. Incorporate University and College brand messaging and style. Utilize online tools to publish and edit web copy.

Assist with writing, planning, and support social and video projects. This may include script writing, captioning, or other copy that support a consistent voice in our communication materials.

Collaborate with Editorial team on monthly content calendar planning, servicing the newsroom, social media channels, and website.

Collaborate with the college Editor to produce stories and content for the college’s annual reports.

Expected Salary:

$40,000 - $45,000 commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
