Responsibilities:

The Workforce Education Coordinator reports to the Director of Community and Workforce Education and is responsible for building relationships with area businesses and industry to promote workforce education in the areas we serve. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Promote, develop, facilitate, and complete various grant projects to support the Mission of LSCO, including Skills Development Fund Grants, Skills for Small Business Grants and Chapter 133 Apprenticeship Grants for area businesses and industry.
2. Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and deliverables, including budgetary terms set forth within individual grant contracts.
3. Communicate courteously and effectively with students, potential students, and community reflecting a professional, friendly attitude toward work, students, and co-workers.
4. Assist in the development of Community and Workforce Education courses and programs – syllabi, learning outcomes, assessments, and evaluations, following the Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education, institutional, and departmental policies, and processes.
5. Facilitate student enrollment processes; including application, admission, and registration adhering to the Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education, institutional, and departmental policies and processes.
6. Coordinate the delivery of courses, programs, and trainings on and off campus, including schedule development and procurement processes for third-party vendors.
7. Assist with the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding, of Community and Workforce Education faculty, as well as providing on-going support.
8. Maintain student enrollment and faculty records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations, and provides accurate data for submission of state and federal reports.
9. Ensure course files are compliant with syllabi, faculty credentials, grade reports, evaluations, and class rosters.
10. Coordinate marketing efforts for Community and Workforce Education courses, programs, and trainings.
11. Analyze contact hours, enrollment, and profit and loss of Community and Workforce Education courses, programs, and trainings.
12. Create, maintain, distribute, and ensure adherence to Memorandum of Understandings between the institution and partners.
13. Assist with the monitoring, and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
14. Support the development and maintenance of the Community and Workforce Education departmental budget.
15. Promote positive morale and teamwork within the department and provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and the community.
16. Travel regularly to various locations to fulfill position responsibilities.
17. Complete all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by LSCO.
18. Serve on committees as appropriate and as appointed by supervisor.
19. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent including or supplemented by courses in typing, word processing, data entry, business practices, filing and bookkeeping, etc. Some Office occupations or business college training desirable, but experience in related field(s) acceptable. Associates Degree in Business or other related field preferred.

Should have three to five years’ experience in standard office practices and usage of general office equipment. Experience in an educational setting is preferred.

Good written and oral communications skills. Word processing skills. Database management including data entry and mail merge. Knowledge of business math, bookkeeping, and English. Ability to communicate with state agencies such as Texas Workforce Commission and local Workforce Boards. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff as well as the general public. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must remain organized and conscientious in the efficient administration of job duties related to the department.
