Job Details
Strengthening Indigenous Student Success (SISS) Native American Peer Mentors are responsible for helping their fellow peers, or mentees, develop characteristics and skills that will allow them to transition smoothly into the college environment. Mentors will foster positive, supporting relationships with mentees by offering guidance, support, and encouragement.
The SISS program is now hiring for two positions for the Page Center in Page, AZ.
Mentors must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial environment. This is a temporary, part-time (15-19 hours per week), non-benefits eligible position.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of Coconino Community College and resources available. Familiarity with mentoring strategies and college study skills. Skilled in interpersonal interactions, to include written and oral communication. Ability to work independently as well as in culturally diverse team environments.
Minimum QualificationsMust be a current student or alumnus of Coconino Community College. Completion of at least 25 college credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Must be in good academic standing. Peer Mentors will report directly to the SISS Program Coordinator.
