Schedule: In-Person: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday. Some evening and weekends as needed.

Job Description: 

POSITION SUMMARY 
The Director of College Promise Programs leads the development and enhancementefforts of the College’s Promise Programs, helping to integrate all programsinto the overall college redesign process with equity and students at thecenter. The Director will be responsible for guiding intentional andstudent-centered collaboration between identified programs. The Director willdirect the development of a comprehensive approach to supporting the studentlifecycle, from proactive onboarding and intrusive advising to wrap-around supportand enhanced teaching and learning, including supporting a growing population ofPromise Program scholars. This role requires highly collaborative work acrossthe College and external stakeholders to coordinate with existing student servicesand support and provides perspective throughout the student experience redesignprocess.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Program Management

Works collaboratively with collegecolleagues, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure the success, collaboration,and communication of Promise work; partners closely with Admissions, Welcomeand Entry, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Student Affairs, AcademicAffairs, and other program partners to help support the success of Promisestudents; Collaborates with the Marketing and Communication team to develop,maintain, and disseminate information about Promise efforts via multiple mediaforums, including web, print, email, advertisement, etc.; Partners with othercollege programs to ensure integrated and collaborative programming efforts relatedto connections with high schools, community, and industry partners; Provides directoversight of the Columbus Promise Program including activity planning,intervention creation, budgeting, and general program development andimplementation using national best practices.

Leadership
Develops and implements a three-year strategic plan for Columbus State PromisePrograms based on intended enrollment growth and associated student successmetrics using a diversity, equity, and inclusion framework. Participates incollege-wide conversations focused on the continuous quality improvement of thestudent experience and will lead sub-committees as needed. Represents the Collegeas a leader for College Promise Programs. Establish key relationships andcommunication strategies to share the story of College Promise and leveragepartnerships to further enhance the development of current or new PromisePrograms.

Supervision
As programs develop and the Collegeevolves, responsibilities will adapt; they will include supervising assigned areasof responsibility and staff by recruiting and hiring, assigning and delegating tasks,providing direction, resolving work problems, communicating job expectations,training employees, and developing professional growth opportunities.Establishes and implements goals and outcome measures, then communicates themto the team.

Utilizes assessment tools to determinecustomer satisfaction and student success and initiates plans to address anyconcerns. Using a Growth Mindset, the Director conducts annual employeeevaluations, provides ongoing feedback and coaching, and effectively recommendspay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions. Approves leaves andauthorizes overtime as appropriate. Administers disciplinary actions upon approvaland in collaboration with Human Resources. Interprets, explains, carries out,and enforces the College's policies.

Administrative
Develops and manages a detailed budgetfor all fiscal matters related to various Promise Programs. Provides writtenreports and presentations capturing the progress and work of Promise Programs, includingreports that will be used for the Columbus State, the City of Columbus, andother public audiences as directed. Collects, evaluates, and reports data ondepartment services in partnership with Institutional Effectiveness Office.

Tracks and utilizes data to makesuggestions and deliver insight into the development/maintenance of the CollegePromise Programs’ strategic plan. Administers ongoing systematic evaluation of servicesand programs needed. Keeps accurate records, completes and maintains requireddocumentation, including recruitment statistics, outbound phone calls, visitrequests and reports, and other admissions and enrollment reports.

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with diverse groups andcommunities. Partners strategically with Talent Acquisition to ensure the bestDiversity, Equity & Inclusion practices are utilized in hiring that resultsin the hiring and retaining a diverse faculty and staff.

Helps to ensure the College meets itsresponsibilities in identifying problem areas and systemic concerns whilereporting complaints alleging discrimination. OTHER DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity and meets tight timelines anddeadlines with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College andbusiness partners.

Ensures the College name and imageare perceived positively by external and internal audience/stakeholders. Work mayrequire travel within and outside the state of Ohio. Hours may include working outsideof a normal workweek schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (education, counseling, or business) and three(3) –  five (5) years of increasinglyresponsible related work experience that has included program planning. Must possessstrong interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability and willingnessto work collaboratively. Must also pay attention to detail, have the ability tofollow through with assisting students, and commit to the student’s success andstudent-centered education. A Master’s degree in a related field such as education,counseling, or business and Community College experience is preferred.

State Motor Vehicle Operator'sLicense or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
