The Center for Leadership & Social Change transforms lives through identity development, leadership education and community engagement. We encourage students to learn, serve and transform through programming that encompasses leadership, diversity, and service.

Opportunities range from one-time service at local nonprofits to year-long training and leadership roles. We offer training on such topics as leadership development, identity and cultural competence, service learning, and community change.

Responsibilities
    Serve on the advising and professional staff team for the RISE Office. Advise one or more of the Florida State Agencies (Black Student Union, Hispanic Latino Student Union, Women Student Union, Veteran Student Union, Asian American Student Union) and leadership development institutes meeting with leaders, attending events, and assisting in developing in achieving goals. Develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive multicultural education programs, trainings and workshops that integrate knowledge with co-curricular practical experiences.Plan and execute campus wide cultural celebrations, including MLK Week of Celebration, Hispanic/LatinX Cultural Celebration and V-rak-ke-ce-tv Cultural Graduation. Interprets a wide array of University policies and procedures for student leaders. Interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with Student Body Statutes and Laws, and the rules and regulations of the Florida State University for all student organizations. Assist with office operations including assessment, data collection, and community reports.Serve on University-wide committees. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

    A commitment to the diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: curriculum development, program coordination, leadership development, and intergroup dialogue. Evidence of advising skills in a University setting and student life programming.Sensitivity to student needs and the ability to relate on many different levels to a diverse student, faculty, administrative, employer, parent, and community contacts this position encounters is also essential.Outstanding communication, writing, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.

The Office of Representation, Inclusion and Student Equity (RISE) creates spaces for students at Florida State University where they feel they belong, are prepared to engage in dialogue across difference, and feel empowered to create positive change. THE POSITION

The RISE Student Program Coordinator is responsible for advising student agencies and other student organizations. Additionally, the Student Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and managing a wide range of student development programs and trainings that focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, multicultural education, social change, identity, and leadership development.

Anticipated Salary Range Anticipated salary is $40.000. Actual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
