Job Details

The Simulation Technician provides technical and administrative support to the simulation program. The Technician will have a solid background in the operation, programming, repair and maintenance of all patient simulation equipment and exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills. The candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and oral, the ability to work independently as well as within various teams.

Please note:

This is not a teaching position.

  • Collaborate with the Simulation coordinator and faculty on the implementation of programs that support learning through patient simulation based experiences for students in Nursing, allied health, and affiliated community partners.
  • Provide comprehensive simulation setup and implementation support for all simulation activities.
  • Troubleshoot all simulators and peripheral equipment and obtain warranty service and/or on site repair as appropriate.
  • Maintain a database for inventory of supplies and perform inventory of supplies.
  • Maintain the simulation labs as a clean, safe and operational facility and optimal learning environment following universal precautions and CDC guidelines.
  • Manipulate simulator during scenario; perform on the fly troubleshooting; and, provide theatrical support, as needed.
  • Provide faculty assistance in running low-fidelity and high-fidelity simulations.
  • Report scheduling requests to the simulation coordinator.
  • Orient students and faculty on equipment in the simulation center and conduct tours as needed in the center.
  • Participates in programs regulatory body compliance/approval, and accreditation processes, adhering to all designated policies and procedures and producing outcome data for analysis.
  • Participates in prepared students' success strategies.
  • Maintain records as appropriate.
  • Additional duties as required by the college.
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field;
  • One year of experience operating low and/or high fidelity patient simulation equipment including maintaining, programming, troubleshooting, cleaning and repairing;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and selected Mac applications;
  • Experience with audio visual equipment and technology including production and editing;
  • Exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within various teams;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

    Full-time, MCCC unit position

    MCCC Title: Special Programs Coordinator


    Salary Range: Grade 4-- Minimum $53,590/year. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State benefits package.

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week; 12 month position
