General Description:The Admissions Outreach Advisor is responsible for the recruitment, pre-admission advisement, prospective student communication, admission processing, matriculation of new students while also providing services and outreach programs to recruit and retain targeted student populations.

Minimum Education/Experience:An earned bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, human relations, communication, liberal arts or other related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional work experience.
Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to respectfully work with diverse populations;
Strong public speaking skills.
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Recruitment and Admissions office, OCCC campus, and off-site outreach locations.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.
Work experience in community college environment
Experience with and understanding of computer-based student information system.

Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Some additional evening or weekend hours may be required.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):Advise prospective students by providing individualized assistance with educational goal identification, program selection, assessment of entry level skills, payment/financial aid planning, and paths degree and/or certificate completion. Correspond with students offering advice, resources, or referral to other campus resources.
Recruit new students by providing accurate and timely pre-admission advisement to prospective students, parents, families and other members of the public.
Provide knowledgeable and professional representation of the college with students one-on-one advisement sessions.
Work directly with area high schools, technical centers, businesses, and other constituencies to develop relationships designed to recruit students.
Plan and implement college recruitment activities, programs, and campaigns.
Attend events and make presentations to communicate with prospective students and their parents in an effort to promote OCCC and its programs.
Through application of federal, state, college policies, and professional judgment determine admissions eligibility for applicants by evaluating required documents including transcripts, standardized test scores, and other academic records.
Advise the Director of Recruitment & and/or Assistant Director of Recruitment and/or Coordinator of Recruitment on significant matters and support other members of the Recruitment team in their goals and operational purposes.
Participate in staff development programs and campus functions.
Plus other duties assigned.
Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
