Job Description:

The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, invites applications for a clinical-track, full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Food Animal Reproduction & Medicine (FARM Service) providing clinical service in food animal production medicine, reproduction and surgery, with clinical and extension activities in support of the small ruminant industry. The CVM is the ninth ranked veterinary program in the US, and is part of an academic health center with six health-related colleges and is allied with the academic animal science programs of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, all housed on a single contiguous campus. The appointee will have responsibilities for providing reproductive, medical and surgical services to clients in the FARM service. This includes services provided to privately owned and university farm units. The successful candidate will be expected to grow the large and small ruminant client base of the FARM service. The appointee is expected to develop extension activities in support of the small ruminant industry. The appointee will also participate in a shared after-hours duty roster. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory, and primarily clinical teaching of professional students, interns and residents. The appointment is predominately clinical and instructional, but some scholarly work is also expected. Collegial and collaborative efforts within the CVM and IFAS is expected. All CVM faculty are expected to be involved in professional outreach, committee service, and curriculum development.

Expected Salary:

Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree. Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the practice of food animal production medicine, reproduction and surgery is required.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience teaching veterinary students in a clinical and didactic setting is desirable.Special Instructions to Applicants:
