Position Description

Part-time teaching in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Instruction may include face-to-face and/or online teaching formats, in lecture or labs, held during the day and/or evening.

Position Duties

Instruction in traditional and non-traditional course modalities; preparation of instructional materials and lesson plans; assessment of student performance; electronic submission of Attendance Reports, Early Alerts, Mid Term Grades, and Final Grades by the required dates; ability to work with different learning styles; ability to work effectively with a diverse student population; participation in faculty meetings.


Responsibilities may include didactic teaching, laboratory instruction, assessment of student learning, and competency testing. Job location at Stark State College main campus.



Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements

Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant licensed in the state of Ohio, with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or related degree. Master’s degree or doctorate is preferred.

Requires a minimum of three years of full-time work experience as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant with contemporary clinical experience.

Requires a valid Ohio PT or PTA license.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

Must have current knowledge of physical therapy including current trends and direction of profession, clinical knowledge in data collection, interventions, and documentation.

Must be able to effectively communicate with diverse student populations, must have strong organizational skills. Must have demonstrated ability of critical thinking and decision-making. Competency in using computers and basic software programs is required. Diverse clinical background is preferred.
