Description:

The Cognitive and Behavioral Science Department and Neuroscience Program at Washington and Lee University (https://my.wlu.edu/cognitive-and-behavioral-science) seek to fill a tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2023. The specific area of research expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates who broaden the disciplinary scope of our department’s faculty. We seek candidates whose research and teaching makes explicit connections between brain and psychological processes, including animal or human models. Teaching responsibilities include Brain and Behavior, statistics, a seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise, and supervision of student research. Strong candidates will be able teach courses such as: Cognitive, Behavioral, or Social Neuroscience; Learning & Memory; or Sensation & Perception.  We welcome candidates interested in joining a community-oriented department that values teaching innovation, equity & inclusion, and mentoring students in their intellectual, personal, and professional development.

Qualifications:

PhD required by time of appointment. 

The university requires employees to become fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with one booster. New employees must provide proof of at least their first shot prior to the first day of employment. Individuals may seek a medical or a religious exemption to the vaccination requirement.
