Job Summary
The Assistant Athletics Director of Operations ensures that the Athletics Department staff complies with the University System of Georgia and the University's fiscal management policies and procedures. The person in this position is responsible to achieve a fiscally managed operation that has well managed athletic events, operates within budget, and provides guidance to coaches on business processes.

Responsibilities
    Effectively manage and control budgets, account and budget analysis and forecasting Provide regular operating budget summaries and external revenue reports to the Director of Athletics Collaborates with the Division of Business & Financial Affairs and their respective unit managers in accounting, budget management, procurement services, human resources, and accounts payable Reviews, analyze and reconciles Athletic budgets, special projects, and accounts Projects and forecasts revenue and expenditures Directs and supervises all athletic purchasing and business operations including cash receipts, sponsorship revenue, and expenditures from University Foundation accounts Provides monthly and annual budgets to all programs Supervises ticket operations and ticket staff Determines number of tickets needed for Athletic department events Reconciles ticket sales and cash received to sales report and makes deposit Assist with athletics game management functions, as needed Oversight of business functions related to ticket operation in collaboration with external team members Reviews and updates necessary cash control procedures to ensure security of any cash, checks, or associated revenues while in Athletics' possession, and ensures compliance with university's petty cash, deposits, etc. procedures Requires additional work with athletic contests and strategic initiative, specifically on nights and weekends Assists in sports administration responsibilities May be required to perform job related duties other than those specifically delineated in this position

Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field Three (3) years of experience in business, accounting, budget management, or related field Experience working with an integrated accounting application Experience working in a fast-paced environment Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills A background and credit check are required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    Knowledge of budget management systems and best practices Knowledge of application and compliance of the NCAA, Conference, University, and University System of Georgia rules and regulations Knowledge of Board of Regents policies and procedures Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws Demonstrated knowledge of analytical, quantitative (e.g. mathematical, statistics) critical thinking foundation and related financial/business skills Demonstrated skill in Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills (e.g. graphs, Pivot Tables, etc.) Skill in making timely, data-driven decisions Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public Ability to manage multiple priorities and function in a project-lead capacity as needed Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high levels of personal commitment Ability to foster a cooperative work environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgement, tact and discretion
