Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Coordinator of Cybersecurity

JOB SUMMARY: 
This position is a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Professor with assigned duties as Deputy Chair of Computer Sciences (Cybersecurity). As an Assistant Professor, the Faculty member will be responsible to teach 3 undergraduate classes during the fall and spring semesters, conduct research, keep office hours, help to further develop the curriculum, and all other duties associated with being a full-time faculty member. In the role as Deputy Chair, this role will assist with administrative and academic tasks as assigned by the Department Chair. Under the direction of the Department Chair, the Deputy Chair assumes a leadership role that may include, but is not limited to the following tasks: Course scheduling, assessing advanced certificate and degree programs, identifying new markets, forging relationships and partnerships with employers, monitoring curriculum quality, faculty mentoring/coaching, and student outcomes, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach 3 undergraduate courses per semester—fall and spring
Engage in independent research/scholarly activities
Maintain office hours on campus
Advise assigned group of students
Assist with placement and supervision of internships and career advisement
Fulfill all responsibilities outlined in the Touro University Faculty Handbook
In the administrative role this person will work under the direction of the Chair to:
Plan, evaluate, and modify the university’s offerings in Cybersecurity and Network Administration.
Assist with overseeing the development of workshops/presentations, recruitment events and materials, new student orientation, business development opportunities, website / social media promotional initiatives, and postings.
Assist with resolving students’ academic problems.
Assist with the recruitment and mentoring of adjunct faculty.
Assist with forging relationships and partnerships with employers and other schools.
Any other administrative-related projects or duties as assigned by the Dean.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/ Experience
Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field with special emphasis on Cybersecurity and Network Administration
Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctoral degree
Substantial work or consulting experience in the field of Cybersecurity and Network Administration
