Serving within the Research Faculty of The Institute, this position directly supports the extension, service, and economic development missions of Georgia Tech to the State of Georgia and beyond. Primarily this position serves to strengthen connections between the Georgia Tech Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) and the Georgia Tech student and faculty community. As one of the oldest and most successful research university-affiliated incubators in the United States, ATDC is a startup incubator that helps technology entrepreneurs in Georgia launch and grow successful companies. Incumbent in this role will mainly be responsible for developing relationships between ATDC member companies and the Georgia Tech academic community and other Georgia based universities. These relationships will lead to relevant entrepreneurial collaborations that will mutually benefit ATDC, Georgia Tech faculty, and the Georgia Tech student body. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop all ATDC student and faculty engagement program logistics including, but not limited to, site visits, workshops, events, student hiring, and/or management
  • Design, develop, and maintain program accountability metrics that measure performance and/or impacts in line with Georgia Tech’s commitment to excellence in entrepreneurship (communicate results to relevant stakeholders)
  • Oversee program marketing logistics and communications with interested communities and stakeholders
  • Build program external outreach network with Georgia Tech Career Center, other Georgia based colleges, research centers, alumni, etc.
  • Represent ATDC and speak publicly at relevant events that foster constituent relationship development
  • Perform organizational administrative tasks, and other related duties, as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Work Experience/Education: MBA and/or master’s degree in a relevant field. 7-10 years of job-related work experience. Preferred backgrounds include (1) Established relationships with relevant Georgia Tech and other Georgia based university stakeholders/constituents; (2) Prior experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or a community-driven environment; (3) Prior higher education student recruitment experience, especially in the technology competency fields.
  • Skills: Proven track record developing positive relationships with students and/or faculty; quantitative program/project measurement experience; and an ability to use independent judgment and communicate effectively.
