Chair of Exercise Science

The United States Sports Academy, the only free-standing sports university in the US, is seeking an individual to lead the Academy’s Department of Exercise Science. The Department of Exercise Science is an NSCA ERP program at the Bachelor’s level, and is also offered at the Academy’s graduate school. The department Chair will provide instruction, undertake administrative activities and committee assignments in the Division of Academic Affairs, and provide academic, portfolio, and internship advising to students in a fully asynchronous on-line distance learning environment. Course management skills including writing content updates and curriculum development for the discipline, are an important aspect of the position. It is expected that the faculty member will seek out grant opportunities and undertake such research typical of professional development and participate in service activities as requested. Short-term international teaching assignments of one to two weeks duration are also a possibility. This is a full-time, onsite, position at the Academy’s Daphne, Alabama campus located on the beautiful eastern shore of Mobile Bay

Requirements

Qualifications: An earned Doctorate in Exercise Science (or related discipline) with experience in teaching in a distance learning environment with supervisory academic experience in higher education. The candidate’s CV should have evidence of scholarly production and must possess demonstrable and developed computer skills. A current CSCS credential is required.
