The O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law was established in 2007 through the generous philanthropy of Linda and Timothy O'Neill to respond to the need for innovative solutions to the most pressing global health concerns. In bringing together experts from both the public health and legal fields, the O'Neill Institute reflects the importance of public and private law in health policy analysis

Job Overview

The Program Manager supports the implementation of Global Health Policy and Politics (GHPP) health programs, serves as a substantive advisor on program implementation, and backstops GHPP leadership on technical work streams. They are a critical member of the grant management team, lending substantive knowledge to the implementation of the initiative's grants, and providing necessary coordination between and across GHPP partners.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the O'Neill Institute Executive Director, the Program Manager supports the Program Directors.

Qualifications
  • MPH, M.A., or related graduate degree such as public policy, public administration, or international affairs - preference for PhD or MD
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in global health program management, administration, and implementation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working on HIV programs, particularly with a global and/or prevention focus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in ambiguity, self-starter who does not require directives, and a team player who enjoys collaborating


Preferred qualifications
  • Experience working for the U.S. government or one of its implementing partners
  • Experience supporting programs in Africa and/or living and working in Africa
  • Experience writing and publishing academic papers
