The Sr. Accountant/Financial Analyst position reports to the Accounting Manager of SM-DN Business Office and is responsible for Global financial accounting operations and certain school level accounting processes. Works closely with global in-country finance teams and PSOM departmental Business Administrators to ensure pertinent data is accurately captured in the accounting system, and relevant internal control and University policies and guidelines are adhered to. Interacts with various University partners ensuring all necessary accounting and reporting is in accordance with GAAP and IRS regulations, University Policy, and State and Federal regulations surrounding foreign transactions.
Specific work interactions include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for Global office accounting and financial reporting, global contracts and global education.
Participating in the global operation meetings and works closely with in-country finance teams to ensure financial transactions are processed appropriately and financial data is recorded accurately and timely in the systems.
Preparing quarterly billing and balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
Assisting with the preparation of global operation’s annual budget process and performing quarterly analysis to monitor budgets, actuals, forecasts and fund balances.
Ensuring compliance with internal control and University policies and guidelines.
Supporting department administrators, providing guidance and resolution on accounting policy issues and provide guidance in accordance with technical GAAP and IRS guidance as applicable.
Participating in unit, campus- and university-wide financial meetings, task forces, and working groups as assigned.
Attending and participating in mandatory and recommended training and development opportunities.
Ad hoc analysis and other areas as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree with a major in accounting/finance and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting deadlines.
