Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships

Job Description:

As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Continuum of Physician Education, this position will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity.

The Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships works with the Department of Clinical Affairs within the College of Osteopathic Medicine to lead overall communication to partners to keep them informed of the strategic direction and goals of the University and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships is a self-starter with exceptional communication and relational skills. The Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships needs the ability to create and deliver presentations and also represent Marian University in a positive and professional way to diverse populations. For this reason Microsoft Excel/Word/Publisher skills are essential and creative writing skills would be an asset. The Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships should be experienced with database development and management. Additionally, this person will collaborate with professionals in various divisions across campus and multiple community partners (undergraduate institutions, hospitals, etc).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned):

  • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Maximizes communication avenues to align community partners with MU and MU-COM’s strategic initiatives.
  • Assists with consistent voice, tone, and messaging to internal and external stakeholders.
  • In collaboration with marketing, helps maintain and enhance MU-COM’s presence on various Social Media platforms.
  • Maintains an up-to-date database of MU-COM alumni.
  • Coordinates updates and invitations to partners to enhance ongoing engagement.
  • Develops and maintains contact with local residency programs.
  • Maintains and continually updates information on MU-COM website.
  • Coordinates outreach events with clinical partners and MU-COM alumni.
  • Maintains accurate contact information for key partnerships.
  • Creates and sends out a quarterly newsletter to foster partnership alignment.
  • Focuses on creating and fostering partnership alignment with clinical partners, alumni and the community at large.
  • Assists with CME Events as needed in collaboration with the IOA.
