Responsibilities

We are seeking Full-time (9 or 12 month) Specialized Teaching Faculty positions to teach primarily in the Undergraduate Nursing Program providing didactic, lab and/or clinical nursing instruction across a broad range of settings, including fundamentals, health assessment, community, pediatrics, and senior internship.

• Deliver instruction in didactic, lab and clinical settings to promote student success.
• Participate in planning, organizing, and developing curriculum for the Undergraduate Nursing Program.
• Supervise, evaluate, and mentor students in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Appropriately document student progress in clinical sessions.
• Participate in departmental and team meetings.
• Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
• Other duties as assigned.

This are Specialized faculty positions; level commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Academic doctorate (PhD, DNP, EdD) or highest level terminal degree from an accredited institution. Current active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license; or licensed in another state with eligibility to obtain FL licensure within 30 days of hire. Current clinical experience along with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, as well as possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. The Specialized Teaching Faculty in Nursing must demonstrate the ability to work well with students, faculty and staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.

Preferred

• Relevant teaching experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent software.
• Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
• Experience supervising and training employees.
• Experience meeting project deadlines.
• Experience identifying, gathering, interpreting, reporting data and/or editing information.

What is a typical day in this position? No two days are the same. One day you may be providing didactic, lab and/or clinical nursing instruction across a broad range of settings. The next you may be interpreting and providing guidance for fundamentals, health assessment, community, pediatrics, and senior internship activities for compliance.

What can I expect in the first 60-90 days? Your first few weeks will be getting up to speed on all things College of Nursing Undergraduate Program — our policies, procedures, and what is expected of you. You'll also spend time working with other members in the Undergraduate activities, so you have a good understanding how to manage and process them.
