Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for providing high-quality customer service and promoting end user satisfaction by facilitating the use of computers and information technology within the FSU Foundation.

IT Support

Provides support for the Microsoft Windows computing infrastructure by installing/resolving issues with desktop hardware and software including operating systems, desktop applications, computer peripherals, printers, smart phones and multimedia equipment. Manages the rollout of new computers, desktop imaging, and maintains inventory of all computer equipment. Provides appropriate service, support and advice to end users regarding technical issues. Develops and conducts quality end user training in a variety of applications.

Remote User Support

Serves at the liaison between the FSU Foundation and the campus units in regards to 1st and 2nd level support of the fundraisers located outside the Foundation building. Coordinates the laptop requirements for external employees that are located off-site.

IT Infrastructure Support

Assists in Active Directory account maintenance and security, maintaining NTFS file permissions, login scripts, monitoring domain and local group policies and other routine system administration duties. Creates and maintains portal webpages. Protects confidential information.

Assist IT Manager & Other

Assists in data backup and file restoration. Adheres to Information Services change management policies and procedures. Other duties as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma/equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Commitment to best practices of equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Detail oriented and organized with an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office products suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), or equivalent software.
  • Ability to function independently while working well in a team-oriented environment, taking the initiative to be productive and efficient.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously and accurately in a detail-oriented environment.

Preferred
    Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing support for Active Directory accounts, MDT, or some form of windows imaging.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with users of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Soft Money Funded Position

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
