Responsibilities

The Grants Compliance Analyst is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all contract & grant activities for the Department, including the development, implementation, tracking, and monitoring of contracts and grants. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the lead grant coordinator for the development and administration of pre- and post-award activity for sponsored research projects.
  • Preparing financial reports and sponsored research office and agency forms for sponsored awards.
  • Assisting principal investigators (PIs) with proposal and budget development.
  • Reconciling general ledgers and processing accounting transactions.
  • Reviewing and approving the general ledger reconciliations prepared by Grants Associates.
  • Ensuring a sound environment of internal controls by monitoring and reviewing all grant activities to ensure compliance.
  • Reviewing and analyzing sponsored award documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitoring and reviewing sponsored projects expenditures and budgets for allowability, accuracy and compliance with federal, state, local, private and University rules and regulations.
  • Analyzing internal and external regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines and recommending policies and procedures related to sponsored projects.
  • Supervising, cross training, and serving as a backup to Grants Compliance Associates.
  • Acting as a liaison for the Department with Sponsored Research and other central FSU offices.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year experience.

(Note: Higher education may substitute at an equivalent rate.)

  • Experience managing fiscal, purchasing, and financial functions.
  • Experience reconciling accounting records.
  • Previous supervisory experience and the ability to train and manage employees.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite or other comparable software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Note: This position requires successful completion of the eSPEAR Certification or ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire.

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated salary is low $40,000s to negotiable commensurate with qualifications.
