Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Title IX Director, this position is responsible for evaluating and responding to complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, relationship violence, stalking, sex-based discrimination, and/or retaliation in which a student or student organization is the responding party.

  • Exercises sound judgement and critical thinking during the intake, informal resolution, and formal investigation of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, relationship violence, stalking, and/or sex-based discrimination complaints and in generating strategies and/or recommendations for the resolution of complaints.
  • Acts as a neutral party throughout all aspects of the investigation and ensures a prompt, fair, and impartial process for all parties.
  • Compiles clear, concise, and comprehensive investigation reports.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality during all aspects of the intake, investigation, and resolution of complaints.
  • Serves as a resource and provides education to the FSU community regarding University policies and procedures, including the Sex Discrimination and Anti-Sexual Misconduct Policy.
  • Assists as needed with campus training, reporting, campus programming and outreach, and other duties as assigned.
  • Represents the Office of Title IX at programs and events, and assists the Title IX Director in departmental strategic planning and assessment initiatives.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience. (Note: related post-high school education may substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.)

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input, personal values, and ethics.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise and counsel others.
  • Experience utilizing problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Preferred
  • Possesses knowledge of the principles, practices, and standards related to the adjudication of student conduct code violations.
