Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:Full-time, nine month, tenure-track position in the Hutson School of Agriculture to begin January 2023.
Teach at least four undergraduate or graduate courses per semester in the Veterinary Sciences program, advisement of students in their academic programs, assist in faculty advisement of the Veterinary Technology/Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club, assist/advise and work closely with University farm animal laboratory operations, and participate in relevant community/university service activities. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in a focused program of scholarly activity resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Participation in professional and clinical development activities and service/leadership to the Huston School, university, industry and state and national professional organizations will be expected.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:Licensed to practice or eligible to apply to practice Veterinary medicine in the State of Kentucky is required. Demonstrated competence in the area of Veterinary Science is required. The ability to teach and work in a multidisciplinary School of Agriculture in a collegial manner is expected.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:Previous teaching experience at the college level preferred. Successful experience in mixed animal Veterinary Practice Operations preferred.
