We are currently building world-class institutes for the treatment of diabetes and cancer. We are looking for a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to join our team!Duties:
- Works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
- Provides techniques and exercises to diminish and improve linguistic challenges.
- Provides counseling and consultations for new patients.
- Reviews the patient's file prior to their appointment and has a clear understanding of the challenge to be addressed.
- Prepares engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients.
- Evaluates patient and recommends treatment.
- Creates individualized treatment plan that addresses specific functional needs.
- Creates goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges.
- Attends continuing education courses and works to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field.
- Provides training to Residents, Students, and other staff.
- Responsible for keeping accurate records and documenting billing information.
- Records initial evaluations and diagnoses, tracks treatment progress, and notes any changes in an individual's condition or treatment plan.
- Collaborates with Physicians, Surgeons, Social Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and other healthcare workers.
- Educates patients, family, or care giver on treatment and needs of the patient.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Location
Education: Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.Certifications or Licenses: Licensed in Speech Language Pathology by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners.Skills:
- Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and other patient privacy laws.
- Proficient working with computer software used for documentation and report preparation.
- Attention to detail when handling and documenting important medical information.
- Ability to be professional and patient when explaining procedures and processes to patients, family, or care givers.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Physical: Sitting for long periods of time. Speaking and listening.
- Environmental: Office Environment
