Job Details

The School of Health Professions and Education at Utica University is seeking to hire a Professor of Practice (non-tenure eligible) to serve as Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for the new Respiratory Care (RC) program. The program will be offered at the associate degree (A.S.) and Bachelor degree (B.S.) levels of education.

The RC program at Utica University is aspiring to fulfill the needs of the healthcare community by preparing and graduating qualified respiratory therapists who will appropriately serve their patients.

The DCE must be responsible for all aspects of the clinical experiences of students enrolled in the program, including organization, administration, continuous review and revision, planning for and development of locations (with appropriate supervision) for evolving practice skills, and the general effectiveness of clinical experience. The DCE must have regular and consistent contact with students, clinical faculty, and clinical affiliates at each program location.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) from an academic institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United Stated Department of Education.
  • Valid RRT credential.
  • Current Florida state license.
  • Four (4) years of experience as an RRT of which at least two (2) years must include experience in clinical respiratory care.
  • Hold a CoARC Key Personnel Training Program certificate of completion or be willing to successfully complete this program prior to the start of employment.
  • Four (4) years of teaching experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.
