In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field designing and implementing fully built-out classroom technology integrations for use by instructors with multiple source inputs that allow the space to be fully functional for in-person or remote education OR Associates degree in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years designing and implementing fully built-out classroom technology integrations for use by instructors with multiple source inputs that allow the space to be fully functional for in-person or remote education OR four (4) years designing and implementing fully built-out classroom technology integrations for use by instructors with multiple source inputs that allow the space to be fully functional for in-person or remote education.

Understanding of engineering, designing, and implementing plans for instructional spaces using Creston or like equipment.

Understanding of room control systems including Creston and Extron and demonstrable ability to program devices with products like AV Framework.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Any Crestron Certification.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Instructional Technology Technician reports to the Instructional Technology Engineers and performs the following duties:

• Providing support for 300+ Instructional spaces across 6 geographic locations (Main Campus, Albany Airport, TEC Smart/HVCC North, Jordan Rd, Troy EOC, and Albany EOC).
• Assist ITEs in Engineer/Design/Developing plans for instructional spaces (classrooms, labs, special use).
• Deployment and initial configuration of Brightsign digital signage devices.
• Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of instructional technology. Make equipment repair decisions, contact repair vendors, and test repaired equipment.
• Is the senior level escalation technician for all classroom-related technology.
• Provide assistance and personal contact to faculty and staff in classrooms.
• Instruct faculty, and staff in the use of audio-visual equipment in classroom spaces.
• Produces, updates, and delivers training content for classroom technology (Instructional documents, Videos, workshops, etc).
• Provides hardware/software installation support for college classroom instructional technology at locations on and off-campus.
• Provides phone and in-person support for all college business and educational technologies.
• Provides diagnosis, and preventative maintenance support for all business and academic classroom instructional technology.
• Provides support to address the computing needs and requirements of students, faculty, and staff.
• Assists with on and off-campus set-up, operation, and technical support of instructional multimedia equipment.
• Works collaboratively with the Client Support Services group, the entire IT department, and the campus community to provide support for interaction between classroom instructional technology and designated microcomputer applications, utilities, and operating systems.
• Must operate a college vehicle as needed during the performance of the above job responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Instructional Technology Engineers.

This is a Full-Time position with a salary range of $55,000-$64,000.

Hudson Valley Community College serves approximately 13,500 students each semester, and employs more than 630 full- and part-time faculty members. Currently the second-largest institution of higher learning in the Capital Region of New York State, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs through its four schools: Business; Engineering & Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The college's Associate in Applied Science (AAS) and Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) programs lead to immediate employment in industry, business, government and health agencies. The college's Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) programs lead to transfer of students to four-year colleges and universities. In addition, the college sponsors a number of certificate programs that prepare students for selected occupational specialties.

The college, through its Workforce Development Institute, coordinates customized training for many area businesses and government agencies. The Office of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions offers credit-bearing courses at convenient times and places, while the Office of Community and Professional Education offers a wide variety of non-credit and short-term courses that serve a wide range of community and professional needs and interests. More than 10,000 individuals benefit each year from the college's off-campus programs.

The campus provides extensive, state-of-the-art facilities to support its academic programs, including the Bulmer Telecommunications Center, which encompasses the latest innovations in multi-media presentation, video teleconferencing, distance learning, and instructional technology, and the McDonough Sports Complex, a 126,000-square-foot recreational facility that contains a field house and the ice rink.
