Position Description

Instruction in traditional and non-traditional modalities; preparation of instructional materials; assessment of student performance.

Teach the fundamentals and advanced networking and cybersecurity that will prepare students for graduation. Ideal candidates should have exceptional presentation and instructional skills.

Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus and as approved by the Academic Dean and Department Chair.

Position Duties

Deliver student-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.

Provide students with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved, standardized syllabi.

Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus and as approved by the Academic Dean and Department Chair.

Complete as directed all semester and end-of-term responsibilities, including submission of never attends, early alerts, midterms, and final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and all other designated materials to the Academic Office.

Consult with the academic area chair or other appropriate college personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and college policies and procedures.

Respond to requests (e.g., from students, academic area chairs, department heads, committee chairs, Records Office) in a timely and thorough manner.

Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) is required with a focus in Computer Science, Networking or Cybersecurity or 18 graduate hours in related field with bachelor’s degree (or higher) in non-related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

Must have the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.

Incumbent should have mastery of one of the following bases: networking essentials, computer hardware and maintenance, Cisco, Windows OS, Unix/Linux operating environments, security and cybersecurity areas.

Must be an organized, self-motivated individual with good Information Technology skills who works well in a team environment. Good communication, presentation skills, and a positive attitude are a must.
