Position Description

The successful candidate will perform classroom, range exercises and over the road instruction related to CDL training classes at Stark State College.

Classes are offered for both Class A and Class B CDL training.

Position Duties

Teach and perform classroom, range exercises and over the road instruction related to CDL training classes at Stark State College. Develop syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, grade assignments; and advise students. Work to help students master their skills.

Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Requires effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Requires experience using MS Office products.
Additional requirements to teach CLASS A:
  • Must hold an Ohio Class A CDL License and
  • have 3 years of full-time equivalent driving experience.
  • Restricted or Unrestricted CDL Instructor license.
Additional requirements to teach CLASS B:
  • Must hold an Ohio Class B CDL License and
  • Must have 3 years of full-time equivalent driving experience.
  • Must have an ODPS (Ohio Department of Public Safety) Restricted or Unrestricted CDL Instructor license.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

A valid Ohio Commercial Drivers license (CDL) is required (Class A or Class B)
