The Department of Biological Sciences at Towson University is accepting applications for a full-time contractual Student Success Coordinator to support grant-funded and internal projects focused on increasing the success of science students from traditionally under-represented groups and those who transfer to Towson University.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist the project directors with all aspects of grant-related activities including scheduling, reporting, and communicating with faculty, staff, and students; assist in planning and coordinate all program-related activities including lecturers, symposia, and workshops; supervise undergraduate program assistants; serve as a resource for students in these programs by pushing out research and internship opportunities, advising students, and supervising student support activities; conduct meetings with program students to collect and report information related to academic progress, involvement in program activities, career goals, and mental wellness and collect, compile and organize these data in preparation for annual reports; contribute to the goals of inclusive excellence by helping to maintain an inclusive culture in these programs and across departments; travel to conferences to represent these projects and recruit students to these programs; organize program marketing, social media presence, and participate in open houses and other recruiting activities on-campus; and participate in other activities to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and justice goals of the department and college.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field. Three years of experience engaging in project or program management support. The selected candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively; interact effectively with internal and external parties; and manage multiple and continuing assignments. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to effectively prioritize among many tasks, and a working knowledge of analytical and statistical methods.

 

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in a science field. Grant management and reporting experience. Experience working with diverse populations of college students.

 

Salary and Benefits

Competitive salary and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days and tuition remission.
