Job Description:


The Department of Nursing, Graduate Program is seeking adjunct nursing faculty to deliver high-quality online learning experiences for their Graduate Nursing Program. Salve's Graduate Nursing program consists of a MSN with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) focus and Post MSN to Doctor of Nursing Practice. The selected candidates will be responsible for remote instruction, remote clinical/ experiential oversight (if appropriate) and working collaboratively with Salve faculty.


The advanced practice subjects include Advanced Physiology and Pathophysiology, Advanced Health Assessment, Pharmacologic Principles for Advanced Practice Nursing, Advanced Care for the Maternal and Family Unit, Advanced Care for the Pediatric Patient, among other subjects.


The doctoral subjects include Ethical Issues, Epidemiology and Health Promotion, Health Policy and Population Health, Quality Improvement, Initiatives and Safety, and Organizational and Systems Leadership in Health care, among others.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Employ effective instructional methods to encourage student engagement while leveraging the provided course materials and text.
  • Provide effective remote instruction of provided course materials.
  • Evaluate student performance promptly and accurately based on departmental rubrics.
  • Evaluate student achievement and development of advanced clinical skills.
  • Uses the University's learning management system to post grades and to communicate with students.
  • Supports integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion into curricular experiences to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.
  • Actively participate in online discussions by sharing experiences and perspectives; probing students with questions that require critical thinking skills; highlighting key learning points; answering student questions.
  • Provide relevant and timely feedback on submitted student work, including participation.
  • Compile and report grade-related information to students and administration.
  • Engage in professional activities to maintain licensure and/or compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies related to the faculty's respective program.
  • Assist and mentor students remotely via set office hours or scheduled appointments, using videoconference, phone, or email, and other University-approved communication tools.
  • Assist in evaluating clinical sites and/or making recommendations about engaging in a new or renewed affiliation agreement with a particular clinical agency or practice.
  • Commitment to graduate and/or professional education and student success.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals).
  • Must be comfortable working with various forms of technology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency to teach by documentation of current clinical practice relevant to their instructional assignment, certification by a nationally-recognized professional organization in a clinical specialty, and/or other mechanisms.
  • Participate in an orientation provided by the program director.


Requirements:


  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Nursing, DNP or PhD preferred
  • Current/unencumbered APRN license
  • Current/ unencumbered APRN certification in a population; Family preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as an advanced practice nurse within the past 5 years
  • Deep understanding of APRN Standards of Practice
